How do I use the Framework Ingestion Tool?

This article gives a general background on the use of the Framework Ingestion Tool that allows users to import new assessment types.

Navigation:

1. To utilize this tool, navigate to Administration> Compliance Configuration > Framework Data Ingestion:

Using the tool:

When you first access the Framework Import Tool, you will see two drop downs and a file uploader:

1. You will upload the structured data file (usually Excel) from which you want to import data for an assessment type.

2: Is you already have a saved mapper template this is where you would select it, otherwise if no template exists you’ll have to manually map the column names, or you can use the auto map functionality. This will now align the matching column, and then save the mapper template for using at a later time.

3: From the Assessment Type dropdown you’ll select the assessment type for which you want to import data into. If no Assessment Type is selected, you can add a new one and then import the data following the instructions above.

Guidance Enhancement:

Recently the Framework Data Ingestion tool was enhanced to allow users to import dynamic guidance data for different existing assessment types. 

For this purpose, you need to map the the added guidance tabs with columns in imports XLS:

1. Add the columns in the Excel file that is to be imported:

2. Once the data is ready to import you can go to the Framework Data Ingestion tool (Administration > Assessment Configuration > Compliance Configuration > Framework Data Ingestion):

2. Uploaded the updated import file and select the assessment type for which you want to import data. Clicking "Auto Map" will automatically map the corresponding columns the system believes to be the correct columns to import. Always check and verify the fields mapped correctly:
