Introduction to Enhanced Virtual Examination (EVE)
AI-powered document intelligence and compliance evaluation
What is Enhanced Virtual Examination (EVE)?
Enhanced Virtual Examination (EVE) is Cyturus' AI-powered document intelligence feature. It reads and analyzes your existing compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, plans, contracts, and other evidence, and maps what it finds to recognized control frameworks.
Instead of manually reviewing each document against hundreds of control objectives, EVE does the heavy lifting by identifying where your documentation supports specific controls, flagging gaps or areas of partial coverage, and anchoring every finding to the exact location in your source documents so you can trace and verify the results.
EVE is designed to give you a starting point for your compliance baseline, not a final answer.
What EVE Does
- Reads and interprets complex compliance documentation (OCR, indexing, and text extraction)
- Maps document content to control objectives through the Secure Controls Framework (SCF)
- Identifies documented controls, gaps, and areas of ambiguity
- Links all findings back to specific pages and sections in your source documents
- Produces a baseline discovery that feeds directly into your Living Control Set (LCS)
What EVE Does Not Do
EVE is an advisory tool. It supports your compliance work, it doesn't replace it.
- It does not attest that controls are implemented or operating effectively
- It does not make compliance decisions on your behalf
- It does not replace your assessor's or your organization's judgment
- It does not create or infer evidence that isn't present in your documents
- It does not learn from or retain your data
If something in your documentation is unclear, EVE will flag it rather than make assumptions. It's conservative by design.
How Cyturus Uses AI (and How It Doesn't)
AI within EVE is used strictly for analysis and recommendation, never for decision-making. Every output is reviewable, traceable, and human-governed. There are no silent changes, no auto-attestation, and no actions taken without your involvement.
EVE does not operate outside of Cyturus's deterministic governance workflows. This means the AI works within defined boundaries, and all results pass through the same governance controls as any other activity in the platform.
Your Data and AI
EVE is deployed on Microsoft Azure OpenAI with availability in both the US and EU. Your data is handled with the following commitments:
- Zero retention: your documents are not stored by the AI service after processing
- No training: your data is never used to train AI models
- Retrieval-only: your content is used solely to produce your analysis results
- AI is always optional: EVE is an add-on capability, not a requirement
What Happens After EVE Analyzes Your Documents?
Once EVE completes its analysis, the results are presented as a set of SCF controls that align with your documentation. From there, you can review and select the controls that apply, establish your Living Control Set (LCS) based on the discovery, and continue with attestation, evidence review, and governance workflows in the platform.
EVE gives you the documented baseline. What you do with it, validating implementation, assessing effectiveness, closing gaps, is where the real compliance work continues.
